Privacy Policy (New Zealand)

This policy explains how Lodgeyard, a brand of REXOR GROUP LLC, handles personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020: what we collect and why, including in the chat window, who we share it with, where it is held, how long we keep it and your rights.

Version 2.1, 28 October 2026. This version replaces the privacy page published on this website in October 2026.

In short. We use the details in your request to look at your project and reply to you. We don't sell them, and you can ask to see, correct or delete them at any time.

The chat window on our pages gives automated replies, generated by an artificial intelligence system, not by a person. Please do not send bank, card or password details through it.

Our company and our technical providers are outside New Zealand. Section 12 of this policy explains where your information is held.

1. About this policy

1.1 This policy applies to personal information that we collect or hold in the course of carrying on business in New Zealand, including through the New Zealand version of the website at lodgeyard.com, the chat window displayed on its pages, the quote request form, our email correspondence, our Quotes and Contracts, and our introductions to New Zealand building professionals.

1.2 We are established outside New Zealand. The Privacy Act 2020 applies to what we do in the course of carrying on business in New Zealand, whether or not we have a place of business there (section 4 of the Act), and we comply with it, including the information privacy principles (IPPs) in section 22.

1.3 This policy is the notice we give you under IPP 3 and IPP 3A. A shorter notice appears next to the quote request form and at the opening of the chat window, with a link to this policy.

1.4 This policy covers visitors to the Website, people who use the chat window or the quote form, prospective and actual clients and their co-owners or representatives, and the building professionals we work with or write to.

1.5 This policy is not a contract and does not limit any right you have under the Privacy Act 2020. Where our Terms of Sale or another document refer to personal information, they are read together with this policy.

2. Definitions

2.1 In this policy:

3. Who handles your information

3.1 The agency responsible for your personal information is REXOR GROUP LLC, a limited liability company registered in New Mexico, USA, 8206 Louisiana Blvd NE, Ste A #9493, Albuquerque, NM 87113, USA, contact@lodgeyard.com. Lodgeyard is a brand of REXOR GROUP LLC.

3.2 Our privacy officer can be reached at the same email address. The privacy officer deals with requests for access and correction, complaints and any privacy breach (section 201 of the Act).

3.3 When a provider holds information on our behalf, we remain responsible for it as if we held it ourselves (section 11 of the Act).

3.4 Lodgeyard is a brand, not a separate company. Any reference to Lodgeyard in our emails, in the chat window or on the Website is a reference to REXOR GROUP LLC.

4. What we collect

4.2 We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, sensitive information that we do not need, such as health information, or bank, card or password details. Payments to us are made only by bank transfer to the account shown on our pro forma invoice.

Information about building professionals

4.3 When we prepare a proposal or a Quote, we hold the business contact details of the designer, Licensed Building Practitioner and licensed trades we propose to name, their prices for the Site Works, and the licence or registration details that appear on the public registers. Where these professionals are individuals, this policy applies to that information.

Information about your Site

4.4 Plans, photographs, PIM documents and other documents about your Site may contain information about you and, sometimes, about neighbouring properties or other people. We use them only to assess and carry out your project, and we share them only with the persons described in section 11 who need them.

Co-owners and other people named in a Quote

4.5 If a Quote names more than one client, or names a person who acts for you, we hold the contact details of each person named and the correspondence with each of them. We send notices under the Contract to the addresses shown in the Quote.

5. How we collect it

5.1 We collect most personal information directly from you: when you send the quote request form, write in the chat window, email us, sign a Quote or make a claim.

5.2 We collect some information from other people, as explained in sections 7 and 8, and some technical information automatically, as explained in section 4.1 and in our Cookie policy.

5.3 We collect personal information only by lawful means that are fair and do not intrude unreasonably on your personal affairs (IPP 4).

6. When you write in the chat window

6.1 The chat window on our pages connects you with Isla, our artificial advisor: an artificial intelligence system, not a person. The window says so when it opens.

6.2 We handle:

6.3 The automated replies are drafted and checked by our artificial intelligence service providers, based in the United States. We exclude providers that keep or reuse the data. The conversation is stored in a database hosted in the Asia-Pacific region, and is deleted automatically 12 months after its last message.

6.4 If you ask to speak with a person or leave your contact details, the Lodgeyard team receives them with a transcript of the conversation, through the team's internal messaging service, so it can reply to you.

6.5 We may read conversations to check that the automated replies are accurate and to correct the information they are based on. The providers we use for the chat window do not keep or reuse them.

6.6 The automated replies give general information. They cannot accept an order, agree a price or make any commitment on our behalf: only a written Quote signed in accordance with our Terms of Sale does that.

6.7 Please do not send in the chat window information about other people, health information, or bank, card or password details. If you do so by mistake, write to us and we will delete it.

6.8 The chat window sets no cookies and writes nothing in your browser before you open it. After that, it keeps its settings and interface texts in your browser's session storage, deleted when you close the tab, and, once you have sent a first message, the identifier of your conversation in your browser's local storage, as described in paragraph 6.11 and in our Cookie policy.

How a conversation works

6.9 When you open the chat window, it displays a notice that you are writing to an artificial advisor, with a link to this policy. You choose whether to write.

6.10 Each message you send passes through our host to the conversation database and to the providers that draft and check the reply. The reply is returned to your browser and recorded with your message.

6.11 Once you have sent a first message, the identifier of your conversation is kept in your browser's local storage, on lodgeyard.com and on rexorcloser.com, for 12 months after your last message, as long as the conversation itself is kept, so the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. It is used for nothing else: no advertising, no tracking from one website to another. You can also erase it from the chat window, with the "New conversation" link. You can erase it by clearing the data of the Website and of rexorcloser.com in your browser.

6.12 You do not have to leave your contact details to use the chat window. If you do, they are used only to reply to you about your project, as described in paragraph 6.4.

7. Information from other people

7.1 If someone else gives us your details, such as your designer or builder, we tell you when we first contact you, unless the information was already publicly available.

7.2 When we tell you, we explain that we have collected the information, why, who will receive it, our name and address, and your rights of access and correction, as IPP 3A requires. IPP 3A applies to information collected from 1 May 2026.

7.3 If you give us information about another person, for example a co-owner of the Site, please make sure that person knows you have done so and can read this policy.

8. When we write to you first

8.1 If you work as a designer, architect, builder or building consultant, we may email the business address you publish on your website, to introduce our technical pack. We send at most a first email and one reminder.

8.2 We write only to an address that has been conspicuously published in a business capacity, without a statement that the address-holder does not want to receive unsolicited messages, and only about matters relevant to the recipient's business. This is consent deemed under the definition of consented to receiving in section 4 of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007. We keep a dated record of where the address was published.

8.3 Every email says who we are and includes a free unsubscribe link; you can also reply "unsubscribe" or write to contact@lodgeyard.com, and we stop within five working days.

8.4 If you do not reply, we delete your address 12 months after our last message; if you unsubscribe, we keep it on a do-not-contact list, used only to make sure we never write again.

8.5 Any other commercial electronic message we send you is sent only with your consent within the meaning of that Act, identifies us accurately and includes a functional unsubscribe facility (sections 9 to 11 of that Act).

9. Why we use it

9.1 We use this information to:

9.2 We also use it, where relevant, to:

9.3 To get prices, we share the technical details of your project with factories, without your contact details.

9.4 We use personal information only for the purpose for which we collected it or a directly related purpose, unless another exception in IPP 10 applies, for example where you authorise the use.

9.5 We don't sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

9.6 The following table summarises the main uses of each category of information described in section 4.

10. Whether you have to give it to us

10.1 You don't have to give us your details, but without a way to contact you we can't reply or prepare a quote.

10.2 If you order, the details needed to import the Unit in your name are required for its customs and biosecurity clearance under New Zealand law, including the Customs and Excise Act 2018 and the Biosecurity Act 1993. Without them, the Unit cannot be cleared and delivered.

10.3 You can use the Website, and the chat window, without giving us your name or contact details.

10.4 If you order, the Building (Residential Consumer Rights and Remedies) Regulations 2014 require a residential building contract above the prescribed minimum price to state the names, addresses and contact details of the parties and the address of the site. We need that information to prepare your Contract.

11. Who we share it with

Our providers

11.1 Our technical providers act on our instructions. They hold or process personal information on our behalf, as our agents, and not for their own purposes. They fall into the following categories:

11.2 We will tell you the names of these providers on request. Write to contact@lodgeyard.com.

Other recipients if you order

11.3 If you order, we also share what is needed with:

11.4 Each recipient receives only the information it needs for its part of the project.

Other disclosures

11.5 We disclose personal information to other persons only where IPP 11 allows it, for example where you authorise the disclosure, where the disclosure is one of the purposes for which we collected the information, or where it is necessary to comply with the law, for the conduct of court or tribunal proceedings, or to prevent or lessen a serious threat to the life or health of any person.

11.6 We don't sell or rent your information.

12. Where it is held and disclosure outside New Zealand

Where it is held

12.1 Your information is held outside New Zealand:

12.2 Our manager works from the Philippines. Our providers hold your information on our behalf.

12.3 When a provider holds information on our behalf, this is not a disclosure under the Act, and we remain responsible for the information (section 11 of the Act). We choose providers that protect the information and, for the chat window, that do not keep or reuse it.

12.4 Your information leaves New Zealand because our company, our manager and our providers are outside New Zealand, and because the Unit is manufactured and shipped from China. We do not send personal information overseas for any other reason.

Shipping documents

12.5 If you order, your name and delivery address appear on the shipping documents for your Unit, which are prepared in China and handled by freight companies overseas. Those companies may not be required to protect your information in a way that, overall, gives you safeguards comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act. Your Quote asks for your agreement to this before you order.

12.6 We make that disclosure in reliance on your authorisation, given after being expressly informed as described in paragraph 12.5 (IPP 12(1)(a)). We disclose to those companies only what the shipment requires.

13. How we protect it

13.1 We take reasonable steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure (IPP 5). These steps include the following:

13.2 No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you think that a message claiming to come from us is not genuine, or that your information has been misused, contact us at once.

14. Privacy breaches

14.1 A privacy breach means unauthorised or accidental access to, or disclosure, alteration, loss or destruction of, personal information we hold, or an action that prevents us from accessing it (section 112 of the Act).

14.2 If a privacy breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we tell you and the Privacy Commissioner as soon as practicable after becoming aware of it (sections 114 and 115 of the Act), unless an exception in section 116 applies. If it is not reasonably practicable to tell each person affected, we give public notice instead.

14.3 When we assess whether a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we consider the matters listed in section 113 of the Act, including the steps taken to reduce the risk of harm, the sensitivity of the information and who has obtained it. We also take steps to contain the breach and to prevent it happening again.

14.4 If you think that your information held by us has been accessed, disclosed or lost without authorisation, tell us at once at contact@lodgeyard.com.

15. How long we keep it

15.1 We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes for which it may lawfully be used (IPP 9), and in any case no longer than the periods below.

InformationRetention period
Chat window conversationsDeleted automatically 12 months after their last message.
Quote requests sent through the formDeleted automatically three years after they are received.
Information about people who do not become customersThree years from your last contact with us.
Information about customersFor the length of the relationship, including the warranty periods, and then as long as the law requires for accounting records.
Business contacts who do not replyDeleted 12 months after our last message.
Business contacts who unsubscribeKept on a do-not-contact list, used only to make sure we never write again.
IP addresses counted to limit abuse of the formCounted for one minute; not kept.
Country or language cookie12 months, in your browser.

15.2 When a retention period ends, we delete the information or make it anonymous so that it no longer identifies you.

15.3 Where a claim, complaint or legal proceeding is pending, we may keep the information relevant to it until it is resolved.

16. Accuracy

16.1 Before we use or disclose personal information, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it is accurate, up to date, complete, relevant and not misleading (IPP 8). Please tell us if your details change, in particular your email address and the address of the Site.

17. Your rights of access and correction

17.1 You can ask to:

17.2 Write to contact@lodgeyard.com. We reply within 20 working days. If the Act allows us to extend that time limit, we tell you within the 20 working days, with the reasons and the new date (sections 44 and 48 of the Act).

17.3 Before we release or correct information, we may ask you to confirm your identity, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else. If you ask through a representative, we may ask for evidence of the representative's authority.

17.4 If we do not correct information as you request, you can ask us to attach to it a statement of the correction you sought, and we will do so (IPP 7).

17.5 If information about you is held together with information about another person, for example in correspondence with a co-owner, we give you access to the information about you and protect the information about the other person, as the Act requires.

17.6 A request for access or correction does not need to refer to the Act or to this policy, and may be made in any form, including by email.

17.7 We may refuse access only on a ground set out in sections 49 to 53 of the Act. If we refuse, we tell you the reason and your right to complain to the Privacy Commissioner (section 46 of the Act).

18. Deletion, unsubscribing and other requests

18.1 You can ask us to delete the information we hold about you at any time. We delete it unless we must keep it, for example for the accounting records the law requires, for a Contract in progress or within its warranty periods, or for a pending claim. In that case we tell you what we keep and why.

18.2 You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time, as described in section 8. A request to delete your address from our introductions is treated as an unsubscribe request, and we keep the address only on the do-not-contact list described in section 8.4.

18.3 You can ask us to delete a chat window conversation before the end of its retention period. Give us the date of the conversation and, if you left them, the contact details you gave in it, so that we can find it.

19. Complaints

19.1 If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please write to our privacy officer at contact@lodgeyard.com. We acknowledge every complaint and tell you how we propose to deal with it.

19.2 If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

19.3 The Act applies to us although we are established outside New Zealand, so the Privacy Commissioner can deal with a complaint about our handling of your information in the course of our business in New Zealand.

20. Cookies and browser storage

20.1 This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies.

20.2 We measure traffic without cookies or identifiers: page views are counted in aggregate, without following a person from one visit to the next.

20.3 The chat window sets no cookies and writes nothing in your browser before you open it; after that, it keeps its display settings and whether it is open in your browser's session storage, deleted when you close the tab, and, once you have sent a first message, the identifier of your conversation in your browser's local storage, for 12 months after your last message, so the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. Our host may set a technical cookie that is strictly necessary for the site's security. If you choose a country or language yourself in the menu, a functional cookie called "pays" remembers that choice for 12 months, only so that you are not redirected again.

20.4 Our Cookie policy describes each of these items in detail.

21.1 The Website contains links to other websites, for example public registers, council websites and the websites of public bodies. We are not responsible for how those websites handle personal information. Read their own privacy policies.

22. How we apply the information privacy principles

22.1 The following table shows how we apply each information privacy principle in section 22 of the Act. It summarises this policy and does not replace the text of the Act.

PrincipleHow we apply it
IPP 1: purpose of collectionWe collect personal information only for the lawful purposes connected with our business described in section 9, and only what is necessary for them.
IPP 2: source of informationWe collect information from you directly, except in the cases described in sections 7 and 8.
IPP 3: collection from youThe notices next to the form and in the chat window, and this policy, tell you what we collect, why, who receives it, who we are, whether you must provide it and your rights.
IPP 3A: collection from othersWhen someone else gives us your details, we tell you when we first contact you, unless an exception applies, such as publicly available information.
IPP 4: manner of collectionWe collect information lawfully, fairly and without unreasonable intrusion.
IPP 5: storage and securityWe take the steps described in section 13, and we remain responsible for information our providers hold for us.

IPP 12: disclosure outside New ZealandWe disclose information to the overseas freight companies described in section 12 only with your authorisation, given after you are expressly informed.
IPP 13: unique identifiersWe refer to your project by a quote number. We do not use, as our own identifier for you, an identifier assigned to you by a government agency.

23. Your choices

23.1 You can browse the Website without giving us any personal information.

23.2 You can choose whether to use the chat window, and whether to leave your contact details in it.

23.3 You can choose what you tell us about your project. The more precise the information, the more precise our proposal and Quote can be.

23.4 You can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. The Website still works, but you may be redirected to the version of your country again, the chat window may not remember that it was open, and, if you clear the data of the Website and of rexorcloser.com, the conversation no longer picks up where it left off when you come back. The conversation itself is kept for the period set out in clause 15, and you can ask us to delete it.

23.5 You can unsubscribe from our emails, and ask us to see, correct or delete your information, at any time.

24. Changes to this policy

24.1 We may update this policy, for example when we change a provider category, a retention period or the way the chat window works. We publish each new version on this page with its version number and date.

24.2 A change does not allow us to use information already collected for a purpose that is not consistent with the policy in force when it was collected, unless the Act permits it.
