Company information (New Zealand)

This page identifies the company that operates lodgeyard.com and sells under the Lodgeyard brand in New Zealand, explains what we do and do not do, and sets out the information about the Website that you are entitled to expect from a business selling in trade.

1. Operator of the Website

1.1 The website at lodgeyard.com, including its New Zealand version (the Website), is operated by:

1.2 Lodgeyard is a brand of REXOR GROUP LLC. It is not a separate company. Every Quote, invoice, contract and warranty issued under the Lodgeyard brand is issued by REXOR GROUP LLC, which is the party with whom you contract and the warrantor under our written warranty against defects.

1.3 In this page, we, us and our mean REXOR GROUP LLC, and you means any person who uses the Website.

2. Status in New Zealand

2.1 We sell in trade. When we supply goods or services to you in New Zealand, we do so as a business, and not as a private seller.

2.2 We are established outside New Zealand. New Zealand law applies to our dealings with you in New Zealand, including the Fair Trading Act 1986, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, Part 4A of the Building Act 2004, the Privacy Act 2020 and the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007, to the extent each of them applies.

2.3 Our Terms of Sale are governed by New Zealand law. Nothing in them limits or excludes your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or the implied warranties for residential building work in sections 362I to 362Q of the Building Act 2004.

3. Contact and correspondence

3.1 The best way to contact us is by email, at contact@lodgeyard.com. Please quote your Quote number, if you have one.

3.2 Our postal address is 8206 Louisiana Blvd NE, Ste A #9493, Albuquerque, NM 87113, USA. Post takes time to reach us: for any notice or claim, please also send it by email, so that both parties have a dated record.

3.3 We correspond in English.

3.4 We send emails to building professionals from an address on the lodgeyard.com domain, under the Lodgeyard name. Payment instructions are given only on our pro forma invoice. We will never ask you to pay to bank details sent by any other means. If you receive a message that claims to come from us and asks for a payment, a password or bank details, do not act on it and contact us at contact@lodgeyard.com.

4. What we do and what we do not do

4.1 We supply factory-built expandable granny flats made in China for homeowners in New Zealand. We choose the factory, check its documents at the source, order an independent inspection of each unit before shipment, organise shipping, and supply the unit, its delivery to your section and the documents your designer and trades need.

4.2 We are not a licensed building practitioner, a designer, a building consent authority, an electrical worker or a registered plumber, gasfitter or drainlayer. We do not design, build or certify the site works.

4.3 For each project, the design, foundations, fixing, plumbing, drainage and electrical connections are carried out by the designer, Licensed Building Practitioner and licensed trades named in the Quote, under their own contracts with the client, at the prices set in the Quote. The client pays them directly, never through us. There is no referral fee either way.

4.4 You can check the licences and registrations of the professionals named in a Quote on the public registers: the register of licensed building practitioners, the register of the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board and the register of the Electrical Workers Registration Board.

4.5 Two questions are open with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (asked on 23 October 2026): whether a home built overseas can use the granny flat exemption, and whether the Yard 37's bolted steel frame counts as a lightweight steel frame. Until it answers in writing, we take no deposit for a project that relies on the exemption.

5. Hosting and technical providers

5.1 The Website and the chat window are hosted by a third-party hosting and content delivery provider based in the United States. The database of chat window conversations is hosted in the Asia-Pacific region.

5.2 We also use an email service provider, artificial intelligence service providers based in the United States and an internal messaging service. Our Privacy policy describes what each category of provider does.

5.3 We will tell you the names of our hosting provider and other technical providers on request, by email to contact@lodgeyard.com.

6. Content of the Website

6.1 The content of the Website is published by REXOR GROUP LLC under the Lodgeyard brand.

6.2 Our guides, technical pages and answers give general information, based on official sources read at the date shown on each page. They do not replace advice from your designer, your council or a lawyer. Rules change: check the current version before you commit.

6.3 We take care to keep the Website accurate and up to date. If you notice an error, please tell us at contact@lodgeyard.com and we will correct it.

6.4 The use of the Website is governed by our Website terms of use.

7. Chat window and automated replies

7.1 The chat window on our pages connects you with Isla, our artificial advisor: an artificial intelligence system, not a person. The window says so when it opens.

7.2 The automated sales agent gives general information about our units and the process. It cannot accept an order, agree a price or make any commitment on our behalf. If you ask to speak with a person or leave your contact details, the Lodgeyard team receives them and replies to you.

7.3 How we handle conversations is explained in our Privacy policy.

8. Prices and offers

8.1 Nothing on the Website is an offer to sell at a fixed price. Each sale is made on a written, dated Quote.

8.2 A turnkey price shown on the Website is the price for a described standard case, with GST included, and shows who is paid what: the unit invoiced by us, the GST and import charges paid by the client at the border as the importer, the council and Watercare charges paid directly by the client, and the site works by the professionals named in the Quote. Development contributions vary by address; the written Quote uses the amount for the client's address.

8.3 Before you sign a Quote, we give you the disclosure statement and checklist prescribed for residential building work under the Building Act 2004.

9. Images and credits

9.1 Photographs and videos of units are the manufacturer's photographs and videos, used with its written permission. They show units of the same model that the manufacturer built for other customers, in the deployed position or in the transport position as indicated in the caption or the text. They are not your unit and not projects completed by Lodgeyard.

9.2 Some visuals on product pages are enhanced with AI from manufacturer's photos. They show a home of the type we supply and are not contractual.

9.3 Other illustration photographs, such as landscapes, are used under the licence granted by their authors, and are credited where that licence requires it.

9.4 Drawings and diagrams on the Website were prepared for Lodgeyard and are for illustration. The drawings that bind us are those attached to your Quote.

9.5 The Unit you buy is the Unit described in your Quote and its drawings.

10. Intellectual property

10.1 The texts, the Lodgeyard name and logo, the drawings, the page layouts and the other content of the Website are owned by REXOR GROUP LLC or used with the permission of their owners.

10.2 You may view and print pages of the Website for your own use, including to discuss your project with your family, your designer, your builder or your council. Any other reproduction requires our written permission, except as permitted by the Copyright Act 1994.

10.3 The rights of the manufacturer and of photographers in their photographs and videos remain with them.

11. Links to other websites

11.1 The Website links to other websites, such as the websites of public bodies, councils and public registers. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or their handling of personal information.

11.2 A link does not mean that the owner of the linked website endorses us, or that we endorse it.

12. Public sources of information

12.1 The following public sources give independent information about the rules that apply to a granny flat project and to your rights as a consumer:

• (a) building.govt.nz, published by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment: building consents, the granny flat exemption, your rights and obligations as a homeowner;
• (b) the Commerce Commission: the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993;
• (c) the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz): the Privacy Act 2020;
• (d) your council: your project information memorandum, development contributions and the planning rules for your site;
• (e) the New Zealand Legislation website (legislation.govt.nz): the text of the Acts and regulations referred to in our documents.

12.2 We are not endorsed by, and do not speak for, any of these bodies.
