Cookie Policy (New Zealand)
This policy lists every cookie and every item of browser storage used by the New Zealand version of lodgeyard.com and by the chat window on its pages, explains why each is used and for how long, and tells you how to control them.
Version 1.1, 28 October 2026.
In short. This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies. We count page views without cookies or identifiers. The chat window sets no cookies. The only cookie we set ourselves is a functional cookie called "pays", and only if you choose a country or language in the menu.
1. About this policy
1.1 This policy applies to the New Zealand version of the website at lodgeyard.com (the Website), operated by REXOR GROUP LLC, Lodgeyard being a brand of REXOR GROUP LLC (we, us, our).
1.2 In New Zealand, the use of cookies and similar technologies is governed by the Privacy Act 2020 where it involves personal information. This policy supplements our Privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal information generally.
1.3 This policy describes the Website as at the date of this version. If we add, remove or change a cookie or an item of browser storage, we update this policy first.
2. What cookies and browser storage are
2.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and to send back to that website on later requests. A cookie has a name, a value, the domain that set it and an expiry date.
2.2 Local storage is a space in your browser in which a website can keep information on your device. It is not sent automatically to the website, and it stays until it is deleted by the website, by you or by your browser.
2.3 Session storage works in the same way, but it is deleted when you close the browser tab.
2.4 A first-party item is set by the website you are visiting. A third-party item is set by another domain, for example by content embedded in the page.
2.5 In this policy, storage item means a cookie, or an item of local storage or session storage.
2.6 A storage item is strictly necessary when the Website or a service you request cannot work properly or securely without it, and functional when it remembers a choice you made. Analytics and advertising items, which measure your behaviour or target advertising, are not used on the Website.
3. Our approach
3.1 We use storage items only to provide the Website and the chat window you choose to open, to keep the Website secure and to remember a choice you made.
3.2 In particular:
- (a) this website uses no analytics or advertising cookies;
- (b) we do not use storage items to follow you from one website to another or to build a profile of you;
- (c) we do not embed advertising or social media buttons in the Website;
- (d) the chat window sets no cookies and writes nothing in your browser before you open it.
4. What the Website uses
4.1 The following table lists every storage item used by the Website and the chat window.
| Item | Type and domain | Purpose | Duration | When it is set |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| "pays" | Functional cookie, first-party, lodgeyard.com | Remembers the country or language you chose in the menu, so that you are not redirected again. | 12 months | Only if you choose a country or language yourself. |
| Security cookie of our host | Technical cookie, first-party, lodgeyard.com | Strictly necessary for the site's security, for example to distinguish genuine visits from automated abuse. | As required for that security function | Only where our host's security protection requires it. |
| Chat window display settings ("rexor-reglages-", followed by an identifier) | Session storage, lodgeyard.com | Keeps the display settings of the chat window during your visit. | Until you close the tab | Only after you open the chat window. |
| Chat window state ("rexor-ouvert-", followed by the same identifier) | Session storage, lodgeyard.com | Remembers whether the chat window is open during your visit. | Until you close the tab | When you open or close the chat window. |
| Chat window texts and display settings ("rexor-fenetre-", followed by the same identifier) | Session storage, rexorcloser.com | Keeps the chat window's display texts and settings. | Until you close the tab | Only after you open the chat window. |
| Conversation ID ("rexor-conv-", followed by the same identifier) | Local storage, lodgeyard.com and rexorcloser.com | Keeps the identifier of your conversation, so the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. | 12 months after your last message | When you send your first message. |
4.2 None of these items is used for analytics, advertising or profiling.
5. Traffic measurement without cookies
5.1 We measure traffic with a web analytics service provided by our hosting provider, without cookies or identifiers: page views are counted in aggregate, without following a person from one visit to the next.
5.2 This measurement tells us, for example, how many times a page has been viewed. It does not tell us who viewed it, and it does not place any storage item in your browser.
6. Country of connection and the "pays" cookie
6.1 When you open the Website without having chosen a country, we send you to the version of the Website for your country, based on the country of your connection. That country is not recorded or kept.
6.2 If you choose a country or language yourself in the menu, a functional cookie called "pays" remembers that choice for 12 months, only so that you are not redirected again.
6.3 The "pays" cookie contains only the code of the country or language you chose. It does not identify you.
6.4 If you delete the "pays" cookie, the Website forgets your choice, and you may be sent again to the version of the Website for the country of your connection. You can then choose again in the menu.
7. The chat window
7.1 The chat window on our pages connects you with an automated sales agent, an artificial intelligence system and not a person. It sets no cookies.
7.2 Nothing is written in your browser before you open the chat window by clicking on it. After that, it uses session storage, deleted when you close the tab: on lodgeyard.com, it keeps its display settings and whether it is open during your visit.
7.3 On rexorcloser.com, which displays it, it also keeps, in session storage, its display texts and settings, deleted when you close the tab. Once you have sent a first message, it keeps the identifier of your conversation in local storage, on lodgeyard.com and on rexorcloser.com, for 12 months after your last message, as long as the conversation itself is kept, so the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. This identifier is used for nothing else: no advertising, no tracking from one website to another. You can also erase it from the chat window, with the "New conversation" link.
7.4 This storage begins only when you open the chat window, and the conversation identifier only when you send your first message. It is used only to provide the chat you have asked for and does not require consent.
7.5 The messages you write in the chat window are not stored in your browser by these items. How we handle conversations, and how long we keep them, is explained in our Privacy policy.
8. Security cookie set by our host
8.1 Our host may set a technical cookie that is strictly necessary for the site's security.
8.2 This cookie is used only to protect the Website and its forms against abuse. It is not used by us for analytics, advertising or profiling.
8.3 To limit abuse of the quote form, our host also counts submissions per IP address for one minute; the address is not kept. This counting does not use a cookie.
9. Third-party content
9.1 The Website does not embed content from social networks, video platforms or advertising networks. Videos of our units are served from the Website itself.
9.2 The Website contains links to other websites, such as public registers, council websites and the pages of photographers who license their photographs. If you follow such a link, the other website may set its own cookies, under its own policy.
10. How to control cookies and storage
10.1 You can see, block and delete cookies and browser storage in the settings of your browser. The help pages of each browser explain how.
10.2 If you block or delete the items described in this policy:
- (a) the Website still works;
- (b) you may be sent again to the version of the Website for the country of your connection, as described in clause 6.4;
- (c) the chat window may not remember its display settings or that it was open, and a conversation may not carry on from page to page; if you clear the data of the Website and of rexorcloser.com in your browser, the identifier of your conversation is erased and the conversation no longer picks up where it left off when you come back, although the conversation itself is kept as described in our Privacy policy and you can ask us to delete it.
10.3 Using a private browsing window has the same effect as deleting these items at the end of the session.
11. Other technologies
11.1 We do not use advertising pixels, web beacons for advertising, or techniques designed to recognise your device from one website to another.
11.2 To limit abuse of the chat window, we keep an encrypted fingerprint of the IP address used in a conversation, which cannot be turned back into the address. It is not stored in your browser. Our Privacy policy describes it.
11.3 Like any website, our host receives technical information sent by your browser with each request, such as your IP address, the page requested and the type of browser, in order to deliver the page. We do not use that information to identify you.
12. Personal information and your rights
12.1 None of the storage items described in this policy contains your name or contact details. The "pays" cookie contains only a country or language code, and the conversation ID is random.
12.2 Where information linked to a storage item is personal information, you have the rights described in our Privacy policy, including the right to ask for access to it and its correction, and to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
13. Changes to this policy
13.1 We may update this policy when we change the storage items used by the Website or the chat window. We publish each new version on this page with its version number and date.
