Cookie Policy: Belgium
This Policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on the Belgian versions of lodgeyard.com, operated by Lodgeyard, a brand of REXOR GROUP LLC: what they are, why they are used, for how long, and how you can control them. The Website places no advertising cookies and no audience-measurement cookies. Version 1.1 of 28 October 2026.
Language versions: this Policy is published in English, French and Dutch. The three versions have the same content; if a discrepancy appears between them, the version most favourable to the user applies. Other legal documents: legal information for Belgium.
Article 1. Legal framework
1.1. The storage of information, or the access to information already stored, in the terminal equipment of a user is governed in Belgium by Article 10/2 of the Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, which implements Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the "ePrivacy" Directive). That provision took over, by the Act of 21 December 2021, the rule formerly laid down in Article 129 of the Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications. The Belgian Data Protection Authority supervises its application.
1.2. Under that provision, such storage or access requires the prior consent of the user, given after clear and complete information, unless it is strictly necessary to carry out the transmission of a communication or to provide a service explicitly requested by the user. In all cases, the user must be informed.
1.3. Accordingly, as applied by the Belgian Data Protection Authority, cookies strictly necessary for the operation of a website are subject only to an obligation of information, whereas other cookies, in particular audience-measurement and advertising cookies, require a prior consent that is freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous (Article 4(11) of the GDPR) and that can be withdrawn as easily as it was given (Article 7(3) of the GDPR).
1.4. Where the information stored or read constitutes personal data, its processing is also governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and by our Privacy Policy for Belgium.
Article 2. Definitions
- "Cookie": a small text file placed in your browser by a website and sent back to it on your later visits.
- "Local storage": a storage space of your browser in which a website can keep information until it is deleted.
- "Session storage": a storage space of your browser whose content is deleted when you close the tab or the window.
- "Similar technologies": local storage, session storage and any other means of storing or reading information in your terminal equipment.
- "First-party": placed by the domain of the website you are visiting; "third-party": placed by another domain.
- "Terminal equipment": the computer, telephone, tablet or other device with which you consult the Website.
- "Website": the Belgian versions of lodgeyard.com, in English, French and Dutch.
Article 3. Our principles
3.1. The Website places no advertising cookies, no social network cookies and no audience-measurement cookies. It does not track you from one website to another and does not share your browsing data with advertising networks.
3.2. We do not use device fingerprinting or any other technique intended to recognise your browser from one visit to the next without your knowledge.
3.3. We use only the technologies listed in Article 4, which we consider strictly necessary to provide the service that you explicitly request or to ensure the security of the Website.
Article 4. Technologies used
| Name or type | Domain and nature | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie "pays" | lodgeyard.com; first-party cookie, functional | Remembers the country or language version you have chosen yourself, so that the Website no longer redirects you automatically. It contains only the code of that version. | 12 months |
| Security cookie of our hosting provider | lodgeyard.com; technical cookie, which may be placed | Protects the Website against attacks and automated abuse; strictly necessary for its security. | The duration needed for that security function |
| Display settings of the chat window ("rexor-reglages-", followed by an identifier) | lodgeyard.com; session storage | Keeps the display settings of the chat window during your visit. | Deleted when the tab is closed |
| State of the chat window ("rexor-ouvert-", followed by the same identifier) | lodgeyard.com; session storage | Remembers during your visit whether the chat window is open or closed. | Deleted when the tab is closed |
| Texts and display settings of the window ("rexor-fenetre-", followed by the same identifier) | rexorcloser.com, the domain operated by the Company that displays the chat window; session storage | Keeps the texts and display settings of the chat window. | Deleted when the tab is closed |
| Conversation identifier ("rexor-conv-", followed by the same identifier) | lodgeyard.com and rexorcloser.com, the domain operated by the Company that displays the chat window; local storage | Keeps, from your first message, the identifier of your conversation, so that the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. | 12 months after your last message |
4.1. The cookie "pays" is placed only when you select a country or a language in the selector of the Website, or when you follow one of our links that carries such a selection. It is marked "Secure", "HttpOnly" and "SameSite=Lax": it is sent only over encrypted connections and cannot be read by scripts.
4.2. The chat window places no cookie and keeps no messages in your browser. Nothing is written in your browser before you open the chat window by clicking on it; it then keeps its display texts and settings and its open or closed state in session storage, deleted when the tab is closed. Once you have sent a first message, it also keeps the identifier of your conversation in local storage, on lodgeyard.com and on rexorcloser.com, for 12 months after your last message, as long as the conversation itself is kept, so that the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. This identifier is used for nothing else: no advertising, no tracking from one website to another. You can also erase it from the chat window, with the "New conversation" link. The information it keeps in your browser serves only to provide the conversation that you open. The content of conversations is processed under the conditions of our Privacy Policy.
4.3. In terms of the usual classification of cookies, the technologies listed above are strictly necessary (security cookie, storage of the chat window) or functional at your express request (cookie "pays"). The Website uses no technology of the other categories, namely audience-measurement, personalisation, social network or advertising cookies.
4.4. The Website contains no third-party content that places cookies, such as social network buttons, embedded videos from video platforms or advertising modules.
Article 5. Audience measurement without cookies
5.1. We measure the audience of the Website with a tool provided by our hosting provider, which places no cookie and stores no identifier in your browser. Page views are counted in aggregate, without following a person from one visit to the next and without building a profile.
5.2. The data needed for that count are processed by our hosting provider as processor, on our behalf and under our instructions, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
5.3. The statistics obtained, such as the number of visits per page or per country, do not allow us to identify you.
Article 6. Direction to your country version
6.1. When you arrive on the Website without having chosen a version, we direct you to the version of your country, on the basis of the country of your connection, determined by our hosting provider from your IP address, and of the preferred language of your browser.
6.2. That direction places nothing in your browser. The country of connection is neither recorded nor kept.
6.3. You may at any time choose another country or language in the selector. That choice is then retained by the cookie "pays" described in Article 4, and the Website no longer redirects you automatically.
Article 7. Why no consent is requested
7.1. The cookie "pays" serves only to give effect to the choice you have expressly made and to avoid redirecting you against that choice. The security cookie of our hosting provider is strictly necessary to protect the Website. The session storage of the chat window begins only when you open the window by clicking on it, and the identifier of your conversation is kept in local storage only once you have sent a first message; both serve only to provide the conversation you have thus requested. These technologies are therefore covered by the exceptions provided for by Article 10/2 of the Act of 30 July 2018, and we do not ask for your consent.
7.2. This Policy fulfils the obligation to inform you, which applies even to technologies exempt from consent.
7.3. If we were to use technologies requiring your consent, we would not place them before obtaining it, through a mechanism allowing you to accept or refuse them as easily, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
Article 8. How to control or delete these technologies
8.1. You can at any time delete the cookies, the local storage and the session storage of the Website, or block them, through the settings of your browser. The help pages of the main browsers explain how to do so. Closing the tab also deletes the session storage, but not the local storage.
8.2. If you delete the cookie "pays", the Website no longer remembers your choice and may again direct you according to the country of your connection. If you delete the data of the Website and of rexorcloser.com in your browser, the identifier of your conversation is erased and the conversation no longer resumes automatically when you come back; the conversation itself is kept under the conditions of our Privacy Policy, and you can ask us to delete it. If you block the storage of the chat window, the window may not work or may not keep the conversation from one page to the next. The rest of the Website works normally.
8.3. Deleting or blocking these technologies does not affect the data processed under our Privacy Policy, for example a quote request already sent. To access those data, have them erased or object to their processing, follow the procedure described in that Policy.
Article 9. Changes and contact
9.1. We update this Policy before any change to the technologies used. The version in force is the one published on the Website, with its version number and date.
9.2. This Policy applies to the Belgian versions of the Website. The versions of the Website for other countries have their own cookie information.
9.3. For any question, write to contact@lodgeyard.com. You may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority under the conditions set out in our Privacy Policy.
9.4. Previous versions of this Policy are available on request. Version 1.1 of 28 October 2026.
