Cookie policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Australian pages of lodgeyard.com, operated by Lodgeyard, a brand of REXOR GROUP LLC: what each item does, who sets it, how long it lasts and how you can control it. This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies.

1. About this policy
1.1 This policy applies to the Australian pages of lodgeyard.com (the Website), operated by REXOR GROUP LLC, a limited liability company registered in New Mexico, USA, under its brand Lodgeyard (we, us or our).
1.2 It supplements our Privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal information. Where an item described in this policy involves personal information, our Privacy policy applies to it.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
2.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device, and that your browser sends back to that website on later requests. A cookie has a name, a value, the website that set it and a duration, after which your browser deletes it.
2.2 Local storage and session storage are areas of your browser in which a web page can keep small amounts of information. Unlike cookies, they are not sent automatically to the website. Information in local storage stays until it is deleted by the page or by you. Information in session storage is deleted when you close the browser tab.
2.3 An item is first-party when it is set by the website you are visiting, and third-party when it is set by another domain whose content is displayed on that website.
2.4 An item is strictly necessary when the website cannot provide the service you ask for, or cannot be kept secure, without it, and functional when it remembers a choice you have made.
3. Our approach in brief
- (a) This website uses no analytics or advertising cookies.
- (b) We measure traffic without cookies or identifiers: page views are counted in aggregate, without following a person from one visit to the next.
- (c) One functional cookie, called "pays", remembers the country or language you choose yourself in the menu, for 12 months.
- (d) Our host may set a technical cookie that is strictly necessary for the site's security.
- (e) The chat window sets no cookies and writes nothing in your browser before you open it. After you open it, it uses your browser's session storage, deleted when you close the tab. Once you have sent a first message, it also keeps the identifier of your conversation in your browser's local storage for 12 months after your last message, so the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. It uses this storage only to provide the chat you open.
- (f) We do not use cookies or similar technologies to follow you across other websites, to build a profile of you or to show you advertising.

4.1 The table below lists every cookie and similar item used on the Website.

5. Traffic measurement without cookies
5.1 We measure traffic with our hosting provider's analytics service, without cookies or identifiers: page views are counted in aggregate, without following a person from one visit to the next.
5.2 This tells us, for example, how many times a page was viewed and from which country, so that we can improve the Website. It does not tell us who you are, and it does not allow us to recognise you when you come back.
5.3 Because it uses no cookie and stores nothing on your device, there is nothing to accept, refuse or delete for this measurement.
6. Country of connection and the "pays" cookie
6.1 Lodgeyard has a version of its website for each country where it sells. When you open a page of our Website without having chosen a country, we may send you to the version of that page for the country of your connection, or to the home page of that country if the page does not exist there. We determine that country from the connection, at the time of the request. That country is not recorded or kept.
6.2 If you choose a country or language yourself in the menu, a functional cookie called "pays" remembers that choice for 12 months, only so that you are not redirected again.
6.3 The "pays" cookie contains only the code of the version you chose, for example the code for Australia. It contains no identifier and no personal information. It is sent only over secure connections and cannot be read by scripts on the page.
6.4 If you delete the "pays" cookie, or if it expires, the Website may again send you to the version for the country of your connection until you make a new choice.
6.5 Search engines are not redirected, so that they can see every version of the Website.
7. The security cookie
7.1 Our host may set a technical cookie that is strictly necessary for the site's security, for example to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic that attempts to abuse the Website or its forms.
7.2 This cookie is set by our hosting provider on our domain, is used only for security, and is not used for advertising or to follow you across other websites. Its duration is set by the host for that purpose.
8. The chat window
8.1 The chat window on our pages connects you with an automated sales agent: an artificial intelligence system, not a person. The chat window is provided by our chat service provider and is displayed from its domain.
8.2 The chat window sets no cookies and keeps no messages in your browser. Nothing is written in your browser before you open the chat window by clicking on it. After that, it uses session storage, deleted when you close the tab: on lodgeyard.com, it keeps its display settings and whether it is open during your visit; on rexorcloser.com, the domain of our chat service provider, which displays it, it keeps its display texts and settings. Once you have sent a first message, it also keeps the identifier of your conversation in local storage, on lodgeyard.com and on rexorcloser.com, for 12 months after your last message, as long as the conversation itself is kept, so the conversation can pick up where it left off when you come back. This identifier is used for nothing else: no advertising, no tracking from one website to another. You can also erase it from the chat window, with the "New conversation" link.
8.3 This storage begins only when you open the chat window, and the conversation identifier only when you send your first message. It is used only to provide the chat you have asked for and does not require consent.
8.4 The content of your conversations, and the way we handle it, are described in clause 9 of our Privacy policy.
9. What we do not use
9.1 On the Website, we do not use:
- (a) analytics cookies;
- (b) advertising cookies, or cookies of advertising networks;
- (c) tracking pixels of social networks or advertising platforms;
- (d) device fingerprinting to recognise you from one visit to the next or across websites.
9.2 To limit abuse of the chat window, we keep an encrypted fingerprint of the IP address used in a conversation, which cannot be turned back into the address. It is not stored on your device, and it is not used to follow you across visits or websites. Our Privacy policy gives the detail.
9.3 The photographs and the video on our pages are served from our own Website and set no cookies.
10. Consent and the law
10.1 Australian law does not require your consent before a website uses the items described in this policy. Where any of them involves personal information, we handle it in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy policy.
10.2 We have chosen to use only items that are strictly necessary for the security of the Website, that provide a service you ask for, such as the chat window, or that remember a choice you have made yourself, such as the "pays" cookie. For that reason, we do not display a cookie banner.
10.3 If we ever propose to use cookies or similar technologies for analytics or advertising, we will update this policy before doing so and, where required, ask for your consent.
11. How to control or remove these items
11.1 You can see, block and delete cookies and the information in local storage and session storage through the settings of your browser. The help pages of your browser explain how.
11.2 If you block or delete these items:
- (a) the Website may again send you to the version for the country of your connection, until you make a new choice in the menu;
- (b) the chat window may not keep its display settings, and a conversation may not carry on from one page to the next; if you clear the data of the Website and of rexorcloser.com in your browser, the identifier of your conversation is erased and the conversation no longer picks up where it left off when you come back, although the conversation itself is kept as described in our Privacy policy and you can ask us to delete it;
- (c) if you block the security cookie, some security checks of the Website may not work as intended.
11.3 Closing the browser tab deletes the information kept in session storage, but not the identifier of your conversation kept in local storage. Using a private browsing window deletes cookies and stored information when you close it.
12. Changes to this policy
12.1 We may update this policy, for example when we change our hosting provider, the chat window or the way the Website works. Each version is published on the Website with its version number and effective date.
