Warranty against defects
This is the written warranty against defects that Lodgeyard, a brand of REXOR GROUP LLC, gives on the factory-built granny flat units it supplies in New South Wales. It explains who gives the warranty, how long each part is covered, what you need to do to claim, what we do, and who pays. It adds to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and does not replace them.
Version 1.0. Effective date: 25 October 2026.

2. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
The benefits to you given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods to which the warranty relates.

4. What this warranty covers
4.1 Lodgeyard gives you a written warranty against defects in the unit, backed by our manufacturer's warranty. The warranty document comes with your quote.
4.2 This warranty covers defects in the materials and workmanship of the Unit, and of the parts listed in clause 5, that appear within the period that applies to the part concerned.
4.3 This warranty is given to you as the customer who bought the Unit from us. It applies to Units supplied by us under our Terms of Sale for delivery to a block in New South Wales.
4.4 The warranty items for your Unit are listed in your Quote, item by item. If your Quote lists a longer period or a wider cover for an item than this document, your Quote applies to that item.
5. Warranty periods
5.1 Periods are counted from delivery of the unit to your block, that is, from the day the Unit is set down on its footings.
| Part of the Unit | Period |
|---|---|
| The whole unit (materials and workmanship) | 12 months |
| The steel frame, with the PVDF coating option | 10 years |
| The roof and wall panels | 5 years |
| Windows, doors, electrical and plumbing components | 2 years |
5.2 Where a part is listed in the table with a period longer than 12 months, that longer period applies to that part.
5.3 A defect must appear within the period that applies to the part concerned. You may tell us about it until the end of that period.
6. What you must do to claim
6.1 To claim under this warranty, you:
- (a) tell us of the defect in writing within its period, by email to contact@lodgeyard.com, with your quote number, a short description and photos; and
- (b) give us or our repairer reasonable access to the unit.
6.2 You may also send your claim by post to our business address in clause 1.1.
6.3 We recommend that you tell us as soon as you notice a defect, and that you take reasonable steps to prevent further damage, for example by isolating a leaking fitting. This recommendation is not a condition of the warranty.
7. What we must do
7.1 If your claim is covered by this warranty, we repair or replace the defective part, or have it repaired or replaced, within a reasonable time.
7.2 We acknowledge your claim in writing. We may ask you for further information or photographs, or arrange for us or our repairer to inspect the Unit at a time agreed with you.
7.3 Repairs to electrical, plumbing and drainage components are carried out by tradespeople holding the licence required in New South Wales.
7.4 If we consider that your claim is not covered by this warranty, we tell you in writing and give our reasons. This does not affect your rights under the ACL or your right to dispute our decision under clause 14.
8. Who pays the cost of a claim
8.1 We bear the cost of a valid claim, including parts, labour and transport.
8.2 If you pay an expense to make a claim, send us the receipt with your claim and we refund it.
9. What this warranty does not cover
9.1 This warranty does not cover:
- (a) the site works, which the builder warrants under the Home Building Act 1989; and
- (b) damage caused by misuse, lack of normal maintenance or alterations made without our agreement.
9.2 Clause 9.1 limits this written warranty only. It does not limit the consumer guarantees under the ACL or any other right you have under a law.
10. How to make a claim, step by step
- Write to us at contact@lodgeyard.com, or by post to 8206 Louisiana Blvd NE, Ste A #9493, Albuquerque, NM 87113, USA.
- Give your quote number, a short description of the defect, when you noticed it, and photos.
- If you have paid an expense to make the claim, attach the receipt.
- Agree with us a time at which we or our repairer can access the Unit, if an inspection or repair on your block is needed.
- We repair or replace the defective part, or have it repaired or replaced, within a reasonable time, at our cost, and refund the expenses for which you have sent us receipts.
10.1 Keep a copy of your claim and of our replies.
11. The manufacturer's warranty behind ours
11.1 We are not the manufacturer of the Unit. Our warranty is backed by the warranty that the manufacturer gives us.
11.2 You claim against us, not against the manufacturer. We deal with the manufacturer. Your claim under this warranty does not depend on whether the manufacturer accepts our claim against it.
11.3 You are the importer of the Unit. This does not affect your rights under this warranty or your rights against us as the supplier of the Unit.
12. Site works and the builder's warranties
12.1 The Site Works are carried out by the Builder under its own contract with you. Lodgeyard does not carry out, contract for or supervise building work.
12.2 The builder's work is covered by its Home Building Compensation insurance and by the statutory warranties of the Home Building Act 1989: 6 years for a major defect and 2 years for other defects.
12.3 Claims about the Site Works are made to the Builder. If you are not sure whether a problem lies in the Unit or in the Site Works, tell us. We work with you and the Builder to identify its cause. This does not affect your rights against us or against the Builder.
13. How this warranty relates to your other rights
13.1 The benefits to you given by this warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under a law in relation to the goods to which the warranty relates.
13.2 In particular, the consumer guarantees under the ACL continue to apply during and after the warranty periods. Acceptable quality under the ACL includes durability, and your rights can continue for a reasonable time that depends on the nature and price of the goods, beyond the periods in clause 5.
13.3 You may claim under this warranty, under the consumer guarantees, or both. Making a claim under one does not prevent a claim under the other.
13.4 Our Terms of Sale set out the consumer guarantees and the other terms of your purchase. Nothing in them or in this warranty excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the ACL.
14. If you are not satisfied
14.1 If you are not satisfied with how we deal with your claim, write to us at contact@lodgeyard.com. We look into your concern and reply in writing as soon as practicable.
14.2 You may at any time contact NSW Fair Trading, apply to the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal where it has jurisdiction, or bring proceedings in a court. Information about your rights is also available from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
14.3 This warranty is governed by the law of New South Wales. Nothing in it limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
